I have a 1995 F-250 super duty with a 7.5 eng, I use this truck for pulling a 5th wheel camper. A year ago I up sized my 5th wheel and the new one weighs 10,000lbs +. My truck was equipped with a Vortec Super charger, also a shift kit in the x-mission and a K&N air filter. When pulling my new camper it was struggling so I contacted Banks engineering and ordered and installed their complete power pack system including headers, this made a great deal of difference empty but I still seem to lack power pulling. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have heard there is a an 8lb pulley for the supercharger (it has a 4lb pulley on it now), also is there a computer that would give me more torque? This truck lives at 5000 feet in altitude and I often go up to 10 to 11 thousand. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Eric
I don't totally agree. I agree that the diesel would pull it more efficiently, but with a supercharger and the banks system on it, it should pull that load with no problems. Have you had it tuned or are you trying to run 4lbs of boost with a lot of other modifications with the stock tune?
x3 you need a diesel! 7.5L puts out 245 hp and 395 lb-ft torque baseline (1994-1997)... 7.3 DI powerstroke put out 235 HP and 525 lb-ft torque baseline (1994-1997)... Get a diesel!
You'll get better gas milage too with the diesel... The only other thing you might do is to have the 460 tuned at a pro-shop. Have you added a power chip or changed your cam yet? Either way you'd be better off getting a 7.3L!

I was wondering the same thing. And even if it's tuned at 5K feet, it's a new ball game at 10K.
How are the basics? Timing, air/fuel filters, ignition parts etc??
Vortech supercharger?.....Banks power pack?......WOW!
I wish I could spend that kinda $$$ on my 460!
It should be able to toy with that kind of weight at low altitude, but at the alt. you are talking about, a diesel will serve you best.
