Dealer can't seem to figure this one out. So I'm turning to the experts. When I turn from a stop left or right I get kind of a grinding vibration. Dealer said it was tires replaced them still there. It is not nearly as noticeable on wet pavement. The best way to describe it is it almost feels like you're in 4 wheel on drive pavement. But only does it when turning from a stop. If I'm moving and make a turn it's never there. I'm lost. Any thoughts? It's definitely in the front somewhere.
Haha. Well I thought I was positive it was the front until you suggested the rear. Now I'm listening and feeling it and I'm second guessing myself. I definitely know it's not the tires. The dealer had said that was the issue and $900 later I know it's not. I had thought maybe a u-joint but haven't checked them yet. I've got another issue too I suppose could be related to the u-joints. Whenever I shift into reverse I got like a double clunk. I feel reverse engage and then it almost feels like it engages again. Had that happen on my GMC and it was a u-joint. They seem manifest themselves so many different ways. I appreciate anyones thoughts.
No I feel it only in the wheel. It does it regardless of how hard I accelerate but as soon as the wheel is straight it stops. Liek i said before when the road is wet I don't feel it. I'm lost here.
I get just a little chatter from my limited slip but it is in the seat of your pants. It could be you limited slip but i can't tell you that it is for sure.
what kind of tires do you have, i went from a/t's to m/t's and had a vibration at take-off after, i thought its was my drive-shaft/limited slip but i realized the ***** on the m/ts where causing it.
It could also be your spider gears, they only engage when you turn, if im correct?
My best guess would be front axle u-joint/s. Rear shaft joints or spline may need to be lubed, hence the noise backing up. Could be ball joints as well but would like to think dealer wouldn't miss that one.
Dealer just finished putting in new clutch packs. They claim that was the cause of the vibration. I'll let everyone know if that was it. Cost was $700 so I hope that's it.
