Hey guys im new to the site, im having some break issues with my 1977 f150 super cab. i just bought it last weekend and its been sitting a while before i got it. i went to move the truck and the break pedal is really stiff when you go to push it but the breaks stop the truck. but when you take your foot off the pedal the pedal dosent come up unless i pull the pedal up with ur foot then the breaks relese. any one got any ideas Thanks for the help guys.
Depending on how long it has been sitting you may need to do several things.
First off I would pull each wheel and inspect your brakes, I'd bet that all the adjusting hardware for the rear drums are pretty well rusted. Inspect, replace, lub, as necessary! including the wheel cylinders!
check the front brakes for stuck pistons. Lub the adjusters, check the fluid in the MC.
