Stock Valve cover height

Stock Valve cover height
Does anyone know what the height of the stock valve cover (carbed engines) might be? Since I cracked my head and had some other minor issues, I decided to go ahead and do a full re-build on my EFI 4.9 in my '95. I also decided to mod it a little bit (minor head porting/polish, Crane 260/272 cam recommended by many on this forum, larger injectors/adjustable FP regulator, home-brew cold-air setup, high flow cat - also seriously considering Megasquirt, but a bit apprehensive about it, especially given the cost of making it able to control the tranny). If I'm gonna build it I'd like to dress it up a bit too, but all the chrome valve covers are for carbed engines. The EFI version, of course has the "dip" in the middle for the upper intake. Looking at it, though, there is enough clearance anyway that I wondered if a stock-height cover would fit anyway. So, does anybody know that measurement, or perhaps tried this?

Sorry,
I should have been more specific. I need the height. I measured my stock 75 valve cover and it is ~ 3" from the top of the mounting lip to the top of the cover. It looks like another 1/8 inch to the top of the breather and pvc bump + the rubber which is about another 1/8 inch. My EFI's are under hood which are under about 6" of snow When I dig one of them out I will measure it at the high and low spots and report back.
Thanks for the reply
