Are all 6.0l intercoolers the same?

Are all 6.0l intercoolers the same?

Was gona buy an intercooler from a 03 6.0l are they all bigger than the 7.3l ones just wonderin if they changed the size of them the first year of the 6.0l or not.

The 6.0 coolers come in two sizes, 26 and 31 row. According to the resident transmission expert Mark Kovalsky, the 26 row cooler is actually more efficient than the 31 row cooler so they both cool about the same. Either one is about three times the size of the 7.3 cooler. Get whichever one you can get the best deal on.

To the best of my knowledge, all 6.0 intercoolers are the same size. There may be some differences in part numbers, but physically be the same.

I kinda figured they were the same but sometimes the first year of stuff they use old parts. Thanks

That's trans coolers, not IC's.

My understanding is the inlet or outlet can be different sizes. I didn't know this, but mine has a 3" inlet & 3.25" outlet. I needed different boots to make it work. My stock IC was 3.25" in and out.

Incidentally, I counted the rows on both ICs and they are the same number of rows, just more spacing between them and possibly larger tubes. Here is a pic of both, along with pics of them next to trans coolers:
