Ignition Issues
Ignition Issues
I just bought this truck today.
Its a 93 F-150 V8. TBH Its my 1st truck, I've always been and F Body guy but I'm crossing over.
The owner had always left the key in the ignition. If he had taken it out the key would turn, but nother would happen. He'd have to repeatedly turn the key and the same time turn the wheel.
Sounds to me somehting is loose, but I'm think on starting by changing the ignition switch. I'm guessing that located in the colum right?
ANy other ideas is greatly appciated.

The actual ign switch is bolted to the side of the steering column under the dash.
In your case it might be worth trying a new lock cylinder first (how to covered in above thread) but get a second opinion on that.

Read and followed the advice given.
Bought a new cylinder from Pepboys for $17 works great!
Only issue is I have 1 key for the doors and 1 for the ignition.
I can live with that.
Now I got to fix the seal for the rear fuel tank and she's good to go!
