hood insulation pad.

I"ve tried searching here and Ford web site to no avail to determine if the 08 XLT Escape (gas) came standard with insulation on the underside of the hood.? My daughter just picked up a used one and when I looked at it and saw no insulation (but the holes to mount it) I checked on
Trademotion and see there is one listed for the Escape. The reason I ask is that the underside of the hood and the lips of both fenders are black but the vehicle is red although the paint looks factory and matches perfectly with the rest of the truck. Although there are no problems I'm thinking maybe it was popped in the front and got new fenders and hood. Anyway, just curious. Thanks.

You could try checking vehicles listed on ebbaayy or elsewhere. I looked at several: one of them appears to have the hood insulation and the engine bay & whatnot are painted black.

Again martin_csr thanks. Just checked and I see what she has is normal. I might buy a pad and install it although the v6, the way she drives, is pretty quite.
