My truck seems to smoke pretty bad when accelarating froma stop when the engine is at operating temps. I will get some smoke when in is cold, but it gets worse as the truck warms up. I just cleaned the EGR valve. It was stickning, but after the cleaning the valve was moving fine. Is it time to clean the turbo?
Big plume of black smoke. No coolant loss. Pretty much stock. The only other symptom is a slight hesataion along with the smoke, and then it takes off, and the smoke clears up.
The MAP port and hose where clean when I inspected them this morning. I still need to pull and clean the EBP sensor and tube. Is there any way to manualy actuate the turbo? Is there any wat to diagnose a sticking turbo, or VGT silenoid issue?
It could still be the EGR valve. Just cleaning it and moving it by hand does not ensure that the actuator is working.
I know. I just don't know if I want to install the new one I have if i don't have to, and still have the problem. If the actuator was bad would it throw a code?
