Great thread, Dan! Whilst in the middle of looking for parts for the '66 Merc shortbox I just dragged home from a friends farm I pulled one of these radios out of a crusher bound '66 Merc last saturday in Lacombe. Went looking for info as I'd never noticed this style before and just found your post. Mine's identical to your saskatchewan find right down to the phillips sticker but the part number is CA6PT2. That shows they were coding them for year. The dash holes were drilled in a pretty sloppy fashion though. I've even got that same '65 Ford accessory booklet somewhere here. We'll have to scan some of this stuff so Bill can see what he's been missing out on...
You guys might have noticed the 'C' preceding part numbers in that accessory booklet. Some part numbers for the Canadian market only cars and trucks( Meteors, Monarchs, Merc trucks etc) had a C or CD in front.
Here's a good pic with an interesting twist: the letters on the left are from the 65/66 Merc truck and the right letters are ones used on the 67/68 Merc truck. The earlier letters use the CD prefix but the later letters were renumbered to conventional Ford numbers, still using the same castings.

I haven't checked this thread in a while, thanks for that info Mike!
This is an interesting Mercury to me. It appears to have the Medium Green Crush seat, green armrests and green floor mat. However the exterior colour doesn't look green, maybe it was repainted? What do you all think that colour is, Champagne Beige ?
Nice find @alyami - not too many of those left around let alone new in the box. Good for both Ford and Mercury trucks built in Canada. Not used in the US built trucks. Really helps to have the documentation, too, along with a schematic. And a speaker included, too. Really nice...
