Shift kit??

Shift kit??
How do you know if the E4OD has a shift kit installed? Can it be done w/o opening?
My truck shifts weird, always has, so it's not a new problem and it's not getting better or worse. First works fine then it winds the **** out of second, third is just about useless (unless I have the hammer down
) then forth works normal. About the only way I can get the shift pattern to be like normal is to just barely give the truck any throttle or full throttle.
The truck has electric breaks installed so I think the PO used it for towing. I bought it with 92k and now it has 110k and it's been like this since I bought it.
