slide lock conversion

hello i'm new here. I just got a 1980 F100. I would like to change over to regular style door locks. What is all required to make the swap ? Thanks , Tony

82-86 door latches, complete with lock rods, and either the door panels or drilling holes in your current door panels.

Thank you. Would lock from a 87-91 work as well?I know where a few of them ready to be crushed are.

Sorry, i can't answer that. It's possible they are a direct fit, but I can't say for sure.

I think the 8th gens use a cable for the door pull.I'm not sure if they attach to the mechanisms the same way.I think your best bet would be to just get some mechanisms from a late 81-86.

FYI,keep track of which hole each metal rod inserts into,there is one or two that don't get used on the mechanisms(depending on power/non-power).To get the mechanisms out you will also have to unbolt the window track by the mechanisms.

Other than that,Rogue has it covered.You will have to drill the hole in the door too.
