Do you know whats needed for rebuilding the rear? I guess pinion bearings, seals and maybe axle bearings. If you had part #s that would be great. I guess I'm looking for the cheapest place to get them. I just have been spending way too much on this truck lately.
ok you need cups and cones for the carrier, cups and cones for the inner and outter pinion. pinion nut, pinion seal, axel seals, axel bearings.
I dont sale parts, I sale labor so I dont really know the numbers.
cool thing about bearings is they all have LM# and are easly matched up in 99% of the cases.
autozone, napa, pepboys, etc can all get bearings not a big deal.
seals should not be to hard either
If you don't have experience rebuilding and setting up differentials, take it to a shop that does. You can really open up a can of worms by not setting it up correctly. No offense, but if you're asking where to buy bearings and what all is needed, then you don't have the experience necessary to do the job correctly.
The mechanic should know you can buy bearings just about anywhere. Have they set up many differentials? When changing bearings and races you have to set up the pinion depth, pinion bearing preload, carrier bearing preload, backlash, and recheck your gear contact patterns. You can't just throw it back together with the same shims and assume it's all set up correctly again.
