I am wondering if anyone has added in the mirror signals as an afterthought? Are there any companies out there that sell a kit that wouldnt be quite as much as the stealership? I dont know how much wiring is involved but maybe the wreckers could pull a set out, (I called about one but never got a call back.) tried a forum search because I assume this has been covered before, but maybe I suck, I couldnt find anything relevant.
Not hard at all. I put a set of mirrors on bros stx, that was purchased of ebay. All the wiring that is needed is signals and you can ground it at each door. I just tapped in under the steering wheel and ran the wire to each door. Very easy. If you go to tascaparts.com and click truck mirror wiring it will tell you what wire on the mirror is what.
no problem bob08, by grounding at door obviously it is if you have no power mirrors at all, if u have pwr mirrors just need to run the signal wire to each mirror. 07 mirrors and up the ground changed position on mirror, the diagram at tascaparts will show u that.
Check out this link. I've had these on my 05 XLT for over 4 years and no problem. They are just the mirror glass with the signal bulit into it. When I installed them on my XLT the wiring was already run in the door for turn signals. (I guess for the factory type mirrors with the signal built into the side of it). Just connect the wires to this wire and ground the other.

Yes, correct some trucks have all the wiring with signal in them. My brothers 05 stx has no power mirrors nor power windows, so he had no wiring at all
