Whirring noise
When you first turn the ignition key to either on or start, after a second or so their is a brief whirring noise that is located in area of the air filter canister. Being new to the EX I have no clue as to what this noise is. It sounds like a little pump or motor that runs for a second and then stops.( If this is a stupid question I apologize in advance) What is it?

when was the last time you hit 88 mph? maybe its your fluxcapacitor trying to recharge.

If it's a diesel, they have a vacuum pump that runs when you first turn on the key. Many times that's the noise you hear.
