Tranny Problems shifting second to third with a slam.

So I have searched for about half an hour and found some if not allmost all the suggestions were to flush the tranny and the problem should go away.....

Now I have flushed it with AmsOil ATF Syn Fluid, and the problem seems to have been reduced but is not gone. Im holding fourth a little long while climbing hills, and more aggravating is the constant slam into second and third while driving. The strange part is that down-shifting is smooth as new and not even noticeable.

So Im wondering what is this problem from. AND How can I fix it!!!

Im really hoping that its not a complete tranny, cause that will be a real bummer. Im really curious though if my trans is shot is there a way to get a five speed trans into the truck?

Anywho kindof lost with this one going to bring it to a trans shop this week cause its really a pain in the but having my shifts slam into gear.

To be honest if you have a hard shift that is not releaved by flushing it is time for a rebuild.

The problem
The sprag clutch:A sprag clutch is used in some automatic transmissions as a method of allowing the transmission to smoothly change gears under load.

The 4r100 has a two piece sprag clutch and is is not working

Y? because it has either welded itself together due to bad fluid or excesive heat or it has cracked

The Solution
When you rebuild use or have the put in a 1 piece that uses a single race to combine the sprag and bearings.

Where would I find that part? This way I can get the right part for the tranny shop to install it.

Can they just change the sprag, seals, and gaskets like in the old days or does everyone want to just drop a rebuild in it nowdays.
