Hey fellas, well as the title says I'm having some problems with the E4OD automatic in my 94 F150. The truck had been sitting for about a month or so prior to today, and it was shifting fine last time I drove it.
Basically the problem is the transmission is shifting really hard, and it seems to be holding itself in each gear way longer then it use to. For example if I take off gradually from a stop, applying maybe 1/4 throttle, it'll hold first til about 20-25 mph and then snap into second hard enough to shake the entire truck (almost feels like a shift kit) It'll wind out to about 35-40 mph before hitting third, and overdrive kicks in somewhere around 60mph. Also when shifting into reverse it literally slams the entire truck back a foot while my foot is still on the brake. Almost feels as if someone had the gas to the floor and slammed it in reverse, which is not the case cause the truck is just idling when I shift.
I drove the truck just long enough to get up to operating temp, I checked the tranny fluid and it was full. The fluid doesn't look to bad, sure its not bright red like new fluid, but it doesn't look brownish or smell burnt or anything. The truck has about 115,000 miles, as far as I know the fluid is original.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Is it possible a fluid flush could help out?
No it won't directly aid in correcting the problem but yea, however with that mileage and remote chance it had never been done I'd change the fluid and filter, be sure and drain the TC too.
Need to check for codes as suggested, go from there. Post whatever results you get note what the codes are, KOEO and or CM.

I pulled the codes using my code reader. For KOER I got 121, 332, 538, and for KOEO I got 121, 111. None of those codes are related to the transmission.
What exactly are the MLPS and VSS? I attempted a search of past threads but I can never get the search function to work right on here. Bear with me guys, I'm use to my C6's and 5 speeds, these new-fangled electronic gizmos never seem to work right for me.
13 years later.....best advice is start your own thread stating the issue(s), what has been done so far to resolve them, year, model, engine truck you are working.
