oil dipstick tube
It took me 20 minutes to check my oil tonight! The tube has rusted off behind the manifold. Does anyone know were to get one besides the junkyard? I searched online tonight but no luck.

My whole dipstick tube would pull out every time I checked the oil in mine... found the replacement parts a great cheap fix.

Like ozz said it's o-ringed. But for now maybe you can sleave the tube with a larger piece of tubing to get by until you get the parts.

I will check with ford dealer monday on the parts. In the mean time I was also thinking of sleaving it. We had to fight with it again today at a rest stop on I75. We hauled my fairlane home today and I always check the oil and tranny fluid when running a distance.

Thanks Warozz! All I needed was the o-ring (e5tz-6b773-a). I purchased it and installed it today. I have a 1993 f350 7.3 turbo diesel (pre-powerstroke). Replacing the o-ring was easy. The hardest part was taking off the starter. That hidden bolt on the starter can take some time.

There's really no need to remove the starter.

fonefiddy, I agree with you. That was my first time doing it, so I didn't want to do it blind. If I have to do it again, I probably won't remove it.
