I have a 99 f250 truck, with manual hubs and transfer case. I just aquired a 2002 d60 front differential that came off a truck with esof and auto/ manual hubs.
I'm hoping i can swap the hubs off my 99 d50 02 and put them on the 02 d60. because i just rebuilt it with new wheel bearings and all.
I think the differences in the hubs will be flange thicknes and wheel stud threads. Early had coarse threads and late had fine threads locking hubs will swap as well as steering knuckles and outer axle shafts. The diff cover will even swap. Abs may be an issue with swapping your axle so double check it to see what you need. also make sure the mounting pads are corect for the springs.
Hope that helps,
Rob
how do i know if i have front ABS?? my truck doesn't but the donor d60 has a wire going to the hub. Don't know if it's for abs or for the electic hubs. there is also a hose on the brake bleeder that goes to the engine compartment. what's that all about?
even if it does have ABS can't i swap the the whole spindle??? wheelbearing and all??? i don't think the axle has a sensor in it?/???
The hubs are VACUUM not electric. If your truck does NOT have the ABS sensors, it's not front-ABS. If the new front-end DOES have them, just cut the wires and leave the sensor in the hole as a plug and plug the vacuum port on the knuckle.
The locking hubs should be the same, but depending on what part of '99 your truck is, the wheel bearings might be different. The entire knuckle should bolt on as-is though. I think.
