New guy to the forums

Hey all, I just acquired a 1970 F250, 360 to C6, 131 WB, Yucatan Gold on Med/Dark Ivy Green Cloth, 3/4 ton. One of the PO put in a 360 from a '71, installed a Holley on a Streetmaster, and headers. It's a Cali truck all it's life, built in San Jose, San Jose DSO, and all previous owners lived in Sacramento.

The story of the truck as I know it- My neighbor's cousin bought it new in '70, and then eventually sold it to him. At some point, my neighbor got a '71 from his in laws, and then the '71 got t boned. he swapped the motor out, and all was good. Then the divorce came, and the truck had to go. So he sold it to his buddy, who happened to live in the house I have now. Both of them being mechanics, the truck was very well cared for. Cut to a few years later, his buddy is now going through a divorce, and sells the truck to one of his co-workers. the co-worker is not a mechanic, and doesn't take as good care of the truck, but it gets on. Eventually, Mr. co-worker is going through a divorce, and the truck finds it's way back to my neighbor. It had been sitting in his driveway for as long as I have lived in my place, and one day the wife and I were talking about how it would be nice to have a truck. The next day, my neighbor was talking about getting a van and sending the truck off to Pick-and -pull land, when I piped up with, "well hell, if you're going to just give it away, then just park it in my driveway!" Two weeks later, I get home from work, and, wouldn't you know it, there it is in my driveway.

So that is how I came to be the proud owner of the truck. It runs, but the exhaust on the passenger side is leaking (the collector plate came off the collector, so leaking is a vast under statement!). Everything else is very solid. He also threw in the side moldings, grille, and tail gate from the '71. I'm not planning on making a show winner or dragster out of it, more like a parts and stuff hauler, but I love having it.

Anyway, that is my introduction, and I hope to learn a bunch from the vast knowledge base that these forums generally have to offer. Oh yeah, some of you may recognize me from mercurycougar.net.

Here are some pics...
