I'm fortunate enough to have a couple of Exxon stations that sell BioDiesel B6-20 near me. Been using it in both my wife's Cummins and my IDI without additives for months now. Both trucks absolutely love the stuff. My wife's truck went from 18.5 mpg long running average to 20.2. I haven't done mpg on mine yet, but after about the second set of tanks or so a slight injector knock I had went away and my 10 second cold start cranks are now just 2-3 seconds.
I should add that I was an avid Lucas user before the BioD. Used it in both trucks almost every fill-up and I never noticed a difference until I switched.
I don't use additives very often, however when I do, I use Stanadyne Performance Formula unless I'm specifically looking for lubricity then I use the Lubricity Formula.
I've tried many over the years and I still prefer ATF, However I do not like taking the risk and will not recommend it to others except maybe in extreme cases and I also explain the risks that goes along with it's use.
-Enjoy

Why do you like ATF? What are the risks in using ATF?

the risk of using ATF is having a law enforcement agent dipping your tanks and him coming up with red fuel. Offroad fuel is dyed red because its offroad use only and does not have highway taxes paid on it. Adding ATF to your fuel will make regular taxed fuel look like untaxed offroad diesel.

Since I live south of the border, I don't have a lot of choices when it comes to additives. It is either Bardahl or ATF.
I use ATF. It goes for about $2 a quart.
I don't think they have "RED DIESEL", just regular diesel for everyone here.
The only drawback to ATF is the color other then that imho it does just as good a job at cleaning out the fuel system as any additive on the market and it's a whole lot cheaper.
I keep at least a 10% blend of biodiesel in the tanks usualy much higher
only use aditives when I cant get the biofeul and even that wasn't enouf on my last road trip the thinner fuel found lots of ways to leak
A little bit of bio or WVO. Been through 3 IP's because the diesel wasnt keeping the internal high pressure pistons lubed enough. Mixing some of these in the with the diesel stopped that right away.
It is great these old engines will run on just about anything and spare parts/engines are so dirt cheap.
WVO cqn be a real bad idea,
good for the injection pump but it tends to settle out and burn straigh while the motor is cold
if that happens it'll foul up your rings
