I was just reading a post on deleteing the EBPV and have a few guestions:
First what are the Pro's and Con's of this Mod.?
Second what is the function of the EBPV?
Third what else is needed in upgrades to do this Mod.?
EBPV is a butterfly valve at the exhaust outlet of the turbo that closes when you run a cold motor. It suppose to put a little extra strain on the motor to achieve a quicker warm up. Removing the valve takes away a restriction on the exhaust side giving a better flow. The main benefit is that you remove the actuator arm on the pedestal below the turbo which controls the valve. This arm is prone to leak oil. The only down side is it will take a little longer to warm up. But those who have done it dont report that being a issue. Basic tools are needed and a tap and plug. You can buy a replacement section to bolt on to the turbo when you remove the valve and a non EBVP pedestal http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=237 http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=862
Or you can gut what you have https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...d-my-ebpv.html
