Nit picking can be fun tex . That being said, I was still looking for what other people would do if they had the choice. Not saying that I was going to put a 6" lift on if that was the majority. The vision I have of my truck is MY vision, I was curious what others saw.
No probs here. I hope you weren't thinking I was just being an SOB though. I don't mean it that way even though it does come across as such sometimes.
Nope I can tell when someone is being a pain and trying to start something over someone who wants to convey knowledge and experience. I am the same as you in the forth coming with information category.
I think some of us are looking at it from a performance point of view.
Being involved in a Trophy Truck team and using about 6 Super-Duties for chase vehicles, we tend to look at things a little more on the practical side.
For our use, performance (and utility) suffers the higher you put the truck. People are sometimes amazed at how much droop travel there is in the Trophy Truck for example.
Most of us that race around the desert are 'over' the tall truck thing; but we don't go out and play in the swamps like some of you do either.
i would go with the 4". i just lifted my truck and was having a tough time making this decision as well. i went with a 4" and i am totally happy with it. i wouldnt want to go any bigger. i just had a guy offer to trade me his 6.5" lift with 20" rims and tires for my 4" lift and my 18s. i told him no thanks than 4" is big enough for me. it is already harder to park and to tell how close you are to stuff in front of you. i'd hate for it to be any worse. lol
Toy, I have a 2" leveling kit on mine with basically 35s, and I wouldn't go any taller. Honestly, you aren't going to gain anything going to a 4" lift, especially with the same tires. It'll look darn near the exact same. If you want taller, tires are the best way to get height IMO(I like seeing sidewalls), so go for the 6" and get 37s on it when the Mickeys die. I can't see the difference between 2" and 4" myself, since not a lot of people shoehorn in 37s under a 4".
