Any good expeiences with a 6.0 out there?

I'm considering the purchase of an F450 in the next few months and I'm seeing a few bad experiences around here with the new 6.0 powerstroke. Are there any people out there who have one with some miles on it with no problems? Minor problems? BIG problems? I'd like to know before I spend 40K on one.

TIA

Read these threads. They might give you some insight. Personally I would wait a couple of years.

There have been some problems. I think that they are really a small percentage. Ford has built quite a few of the 6.0L PSD SD's. I don't think that Ford is going to let these problems go unsolved. These trucks are one of their primary money making models..

The 6.0L is like any other new gen. motor out there, it is just going to take some time before the "bugs" get worked out. I bought a truck once with a new motor in it's first production year , and i will never do that again....

I just took delivery of my F350, CC, LB, 6.0 PSD last week. It is great. I would never have bought a 7.3L because of the noise and sluggish (typical) take off. I know very well to expect some recalls with a new engine and tranny. That is part of life with new equipment. Ford cannot afford not to fix any design problems they may end up with as quickly as possible. I have read a lot of the threads about the problems some have had, but there are a lot more that have not had the problems. With the way this new one performs I am very willing to expect and live with that. It is a joy to drive.

Must be a joy to drive if the new rumor is now Ford has stopped production of the new 6.0L due to too many issues/problems.

Ive had mine for about three weeks now and just got back from Ice fishing up in Truckee Calif. I drove it hard did a little off road and hit the hills hard. I have about 2000 miles on it already. Runs great no problems at all. I have good luck with cars though. I could buy number 50 from the factory and my Brother in law could buy 51 and Ill get 300,000 miles and he would be lucky to get the thing home. Everybody says wait a few years or what ever but I say that is why there is a thing called a warrenty. It might be a hasle to take it to the shop a few times but If you drive the new 6.0 a few times you will know the minor problems are well worth it. the power of this motor is unbelievable.

Thanks for all the responses. I was beginning to think every 6.0 out there was having problems! The production stoppage sounds concerning though. Is that true?

The company that I work for has a fleet of aprox 150 ford trucks. So as you can imagine we deal with alot of service issues. I have talked to my contacts at ford and they have heard of no such rumor.
