i got a late 99 f250 7.3. i have an actavator brake controller in my truck. when i press the brake pedal the little red light comes on with or with out the trailer hooked up. recently driving arround i have noticed the light is not comming on. i hooked up the trailer and the actavator is not working. any suggestions
brake controllers normally get their signal to activate from the CHMSL circuit. If the fuse is blown your brake controller won't get a signal, nor will the lamp come on.

ummm makes sense i will check it and post back. if its a fuse where will it be?
The fuse will be in either of the two fuse boxes, I can't really remember which one but I'm pretty sure on the '99 it's the fuse box located under the steering wheel. You manual will tell you exactly which one it is.
