What F250/F350 is Best ?
#18
Realize that there is just about no difference between an F-250 and an F-350 with single rear wheels. The F-350 is rated to haul more (stuff in bed) but is not rated to tow any more.
Which truck is best? There is not a single answer for this. It depends on what you need to haul, what you need to tow, what you need to put in the cab, and even what your preference is on engines and transmissions.

Wrong... the difference is a bigger lift bock in the rear and heavier springs, oh and the sticker on the door. Same axles, trans, transfer case, motor, frame.

Alright, you guys are making me see some of the differences. Basically what my take so far, is as long as it's a Ford truck, it's a good truck.
It's good to know that F250 axles are as strong as F350 axles, That actually surprises me.
The main "purpose" of the truck, is to haul my Mustang to the tracks. That means over long steep mountain passes. The four wheel drive is just to be more versatile, and more bad ***.
It is good to know that the frames got stronger in 05.
I still like the sound of a Super Cab Short Bed 4x4. Can this be found in a Surer Duty?
Not to stir up the worms, being a huge fan of the big block Ford, but I'm sort of thinking this truck should be diesel...
One more thing, being new to this, what is an SRW setup, and what is IMO, and PSD ?

Straight from the tech folder:
There are 3 differences between the SRW 250/350...
1) F-250 vs F-350 badges
2) 2" rear spacer block in 250 vs 4" in the 350
3) *most important* GVWR for F350 SRW is 9900 in most states and the F250 8800 in most states.

Good to know but my gvwr is 9400lbs!!!!!!!!!! And why does a f350 ride sooooo much stiffer? I have a friend with an 04 6.0 reg cab 350 long box and it rides really rough compared to my truck!!

There ARE different available springs, but they are available for both the 250 and 350.
Body configuration (single cab/super cab/crew cab/long bed/short bed...), spring selection and how much crap you are carying etc... play a big roll in the ride characteristics.

Yeah that is kind true.......nothing out of the norm. And the color of every mans truck has everything to do with it!!!
