Need a DIY Parts List for InTank Mod

Can't find the one someone else listed a while back. Can't afford the extra cost of ITP's kit, so I must do it myself... just need to start pulling the pieces together so I can do it when the tank level gets low (soon).

Thanks

I believe Guzzle has a list on his site, Pete. Have you checked there?

Thanks, guys. I had not looked at Guzzle's site because I thought it was only in relation to using the ITP kit.

DI's kit is simply a few hose clamps, a piece of 1/4 (I beleive) SS tube about 4 inches long, and some hose.

It's a very simple kit. And I second what Ron's PS said. It's a cheaper filter and pretty cheap. Fleetfilter.com has them for a good price.

Thanks, Andrew, but I'm actually more interested in completing the mods inside the tank to speed up my fillups. Taking an extra 10-15 miuntes to get that last 4-5 gallons is driving me up the wall.

Ohh.. very simple. Get a pair of cutters and snip the two tube inside the tank.

I used some $15 pliers that I cut copper line with.

Love the harpoon mod too!

It sure is, Jody... especially since I already know the benefit of the mod because of having already completed it on my truck several years back. At least right now I'm only filling the huge tank on the Ex once a month, and am filling my truck up every week, so the more frequent fillups are on the vehicle with the mod in place.

Just found out that Clay has a kit also... more details to follow soon.

Pete, I made my own kit for the pre pump mod, and the fuel pickup. The SS tubing was the hardest to track down. It seems every where I looked wanted to sell me a whole 8' stick, and not just the 3' section that I needed. There is thin wall and thick wall tubing on the market, and you want thin wall. Most hydraulic shops will have the compression fittings.

Come to think of it, I think I still have some SS tubing in the shop, Ill look tomorrow, and let you know how much I have. If its enough it is yours.

Pete, I got the tubing I needed from McMaster-Carr. Its been a long time since it was installed, so I'm not sure exactly what I got, but you can order in 1ft or 3ft sticks. Its like Grainger, but regular people can actually buy from them.

Thanks, Brandon and Trevor. I am familiar with both Grainger and McMaster-Carr from having worked in industrial manufacturing for quite a while.

Actually, Clay and I are now working out something, so I believe I'll have everything I need except for a few feet of bioD rated fuel hose, and I can easily get that locally.
