460 Power?

I have a '91 F250 4x4, 460, E4OD, 85k miles set up for carrying a large Lance camper and towing an 4x4 vehicle. It's a great vehicle set up with slight lift, 34's on 16 1/2, three tanks (50+ gallons, etc.). I know that's a lot of weight; but; power really seems to be off at high rpm's...it seems to pull better in 3rd than 2nd.

Any thoughts on how to pull grades at more than 35 mph...? Also, anybody in San Diego know of a good shop to help with the problem?

Thanks

Remember that with big tires you raise your actual final drive ratio.
If that truck is running 3.73's and you have them big meats underneath it's like putting overdrive on every gear. Even 4.10's would be tall after big tires. And I mean on the highway.
Offroad you could use lowrange all day if you like but on the pavement...
The last time they rebuilt the trans in my e-250 van w a 460/c6 the tranny guy had a higher stall torque converter installed. That only helped me with the "leavin' the stop-sign" kinda thing, and stop and go, I suppose.
Tranny cooler(s)...?

7.3 comes to mind too! I loved pullin' my trailer thru the appalaichans with my 96 f-250 7.3 dit auto - good fuel economy too...
