Sorry i have a 2005. didn't realize the OP had a 2004. I have VXCF9 Strat and i know my f/e is down from 14.5 around town to 10.5 tuned. Bill at PHP is aware of this issue and offers a fix for such a thing to roll the strategy back.

the flash for 06 will be a vxcf9 calibration. if the dealer does a reflash there is only one available to upload. its not possible to upload the wrong one. you should not have to do anything other then get ir flashed.

How would you know If you need the new flash or if you already have it??

If it already has the latest calibration installed, a message will display "No Later Calibration is available" on the IDS programming screen, when you attempt to have it reprogrammed.
