So a few years back i stored my 64 f100 in good ol' moms garage. what i didnt count on is good ol' "uncle Phil" using my cowl panel as a step to stand on and fix the garage light. needless to say, the front of the cowl sit about half inch lower than the hood now. bent all to heck. any suggestions on how to "pull" the cowl back to normal height, or flush with the hood so i can continue getting this truck ready for paint.

Oh good grief...is it just the grille area thats damaged or ??? I say the grille area as thats the most vulnerable to damage from being stood on...
Either way...I would talk to your uncle and see what he has to say about it...and ask if at the VERY least he would go halvsies on getting it repaired...If it were me I would go nuts though...seriously mad...
This is an area I would farm out and have done...by someone familiar with old cars/trucks....Its a delicate area...especially the grille so it looks right all the way across...
yeah it is the grill area it is pretty uniformly bent on the hood side. My uncle denies ever having done it, even though i caught him standing right on it. What a (insert explicit) . I mean this is the same guy who knocked off my antenna and cracked my windshield, then told my the three dings were already there. ugh.

LOL..thats the kind of thing where I would give him the bill if he did the other things...in front of you no less...as for the windshield...thats a thick piece of glass and takes a good bit of pressure applied to make it crack...If the antenna is the original type on the RH cowl, those can still be had...if you want one, give a holler...
then i dont know how the dings got there cause when i parked it it was perfect. half the reason i bought the truck, even though the previous owner did transfer in a chevy power plant. 400 buck and all the sheet metal was straight, and the glass was good. grrrrrrrr@ people with no respect after breaking my stuff. lol though i did have a great wrecking yard find a few weekends ago. i will post some pics
Man of all the tough places to have to be repair you got it. I would try and find a salvage truck and cut out the cowl vent area and replace your section by welding a section from a donor to your cab. Be honest; its probably easier to replace the whole cab then tackle welding and mending a new cowl insert in.
i know what a pain. well i was gonna post a pic of the things i found at the wrecking yard, but i have discovered i cant post pics. i will just put the in my album
hmmmm well i have a buddy who is a welder, so...... i may beg him to give me a hand, or just take him a case of beer. lol after he does the work though.

You don't live with this guy, do you?
All I can picture is John Candy from Planes, Trains & Automobiles!
lol nope i don't live with him. He is a self proclaimed car guy......maybe his own car, but obviously not anybody else's . i have a few ideas in the works for the problem area, i will post the final solution and pics when it comes round time i think it is ready. Has anyone here painted using the House Of Kolor Kandy root beer brown? curious how it looks.

ive seen one of these trucks in that color...a 64 no less...it looked bad IMO...like a beer bottle...Theres a reason Ford never painted them that color originally...IMO it looks terrible..but thats just my opinion...
