I have been a member since 7/09,but have not posted much. I bought a 1976 f100 4x4 a year ago and have done some work on the engine and now have it where I can drive it regularly. The truck has a aftermarket steering wheel (American Racing). I want an oem steering wheel. I would like to know what years will work and if anyone has a steering wheel they would like to sell. Thanks for the help.
LMC and Dennis Carpenter both have oem style wheels but they are very pricey, I think Lmc's is $399. Not sure but I believe any wheel from 73-86 will bolt up.
I think all 73-86 steering wheels will bolt up. Your best bet for a cheap wheel is one from the junkyard but they will mostly all have kracks of some sort.
I think from 1967 through 1977 would fit if you are looking for oem period correct. However, 67 through 72 might not be a color you would be able to use. From 73-77 would all be black and of course period oem correct too.
Here is mine:
PS: I was not so wild about the color of the wheel cover, but I will go with it for now.
