Isspro EV boost gauge problems

Looking for some input... put my gauges in a week ago and the boost gauge wasn't working right. It would only read 7 psi max and made a buzzing sound starting around 5 psi. I took everything back apart- no kinks in the boost gauge tubing and all the fittings were tight (and Teflon taped). I took the boost gauge out and jerry rigged it to my compressor set to 30 psi and was able to get the gauge to read 23 psi, which seems okay considering that there wasn't a perfect seal between the compressor and the gauge. Does anyone have any suggestions or input before I put it all back together again?

Maybe make the boost leak detector and check for leaks.

I take it that its not a Isspro EV II right.(?) If its direct pressure driven you may try adding a little mineral oil in there and then sleave wrap it where it may be touching something else. Like the fire wall or a line.

Reinstalled everything yesterday, put the super squeeze to the fittings... gauge still doesn't seem to be working right. No idea what/where the problem is.

Diaphragm may be bad. I wonder if the EV II would fit your pod?

Chase, Are you using the plastic tubing or copper?
Did you test the gauge and the tubing together with your compressor?
If you tighten those fittings too tight the plastic tube can get choked off. A copper tube for a mechanical oil pressure gauge will work.

Using plastic tubing, and no I didn't test the tubing with the gauge, I used some other stuff I had for an ice maker. I'm heading out of town today but I might go out there and try to pressurize the map hose and have my wife watch the gauge and see what happens.

Why didn't I think of that ...

Chase, I did find this. Guy was having buzzing problems around 10 PSI ...

On the Isspro gauges, there is a tiny bleed screw down inside the fitting at the back of the gauge. It winds up working it's way loose. Need a set of those presision screwdrivers for it. I pulled the screw out, a dab of nail polish on the threads, and put it back in. Solved the problem.

Unplugged the MAP hose from the truck, plugged one end and put the Mityvac on the other end. PSI on the Mityvac gauge wasn't matching PSI on the boost gauge... it was reading about 1/2 of what the Mityvac showed. Looks like a bad gauge head I'd guess, gonna talk to Michael at Isspro to see if he has any suggestions.

Sorry to resurrect the dead thread but I
have the similar problem with my mechanical isspro boost gauge. Not many people have issues with these or not many people buy isspro. It’s quite annoying because i bought isspro after having a egt, oil pressure and temp gauge all mechanical in my truck for over a decade without a single hiccup. This is of course the newest gauge by a long shot and I was showing 10 psi then suddenly went to 2psi. I was thinking my actuator was acting up so I bought a mechanical wastegate actuator adjuster the gauge won’t read now at all. And yes I plumbed it right after the turbo before the controller and wastegate. If I take it off it does seem to work with my air compressor but hard to gauge its accuracy especially in low pressure. I am guessing it’s dinked
