NEED HELP!! 1998 Ford Explorer help with power door lock issues

I have a 1998 Eddie Bauer version Ford Explorer with a 5.0L. For some reason when the doors are locked, sometimes the passenger door will not lock, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.. I am guessing the the lock motor (or whatever it is called) is going out... Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this, or if it must be replaced, does anyone know the name and/or model number of the part that I will need to get? Any info will be most helpful. Thanks!!

Is it with the auto lock that it sometimes doesn't work or with the remote or keypad, or all of the above? Since the solenoid is intermittent I would start by carefully inspecting the wires in the connector between the driver's door and the cabin. Those have a history of broken wire issues. Having a wiring diagram for this would certainly help.

It is with the front passenger auto lock only... All other locks work fine. The lock sometimes does not work with the remote, then again sometimes it does, and it is the same exact way when you lock the doors from inside the vehicle. The wireing info is definitely a help and I appreciate your response, any other info would be great if you can think of anything else also. Thanks again!

Sometime when it is not working, open the driver's door a little bit at a time and try the lock. If you find a position where the lock seems to work reliably, then you move the door and it stops working again, I'd suggest you focus most of your energy on the circular connector between the door and cabin. If that doesn't yield useful results, then try the same thing but with the passenger door.
