Over filling the rear diff

Can you over fill the rear diff.? I mean by having the truck sit on an up hill grade.

I don't think you can. It's not that big of an area to get very much more into it. Why take a chance anyways. Just park on flat ground and fell her up.

There is a specification on the fill level ... and it is below the fill-plug. If you do over fill, it could cause your pinion seal to leak.

Or spit out the vent line if you overfill that much

Even if you DO overfill it, use a turkey baster and suck it out.......

The amount I am talking about is may be a 1 - 2 oz more. The reason I ask is because after my front a d rear diff oil change I thought about the my driveway grade, not much.

Don't worry about it. If its overfilled, the pinion seal might weep slowly for a while until the level is back down, but it won't hurt anything.
