looks pretty good being an xl and 4.6 i would offer em about 3700 see where it goes, nothing against the xl and 4.6 My opinion its just worth a little less i would say your probly right about the ball joints and u joints and such i would also throw in that you might have to work on the brakes, possibly alternator, check all fluids just standard stuff. If you do get it to help with teh rust on my old 2000 i had the same problem start luckily i caught it in time cleaned all the rust up in the inside used rust converter on it. On the out side i poped the rust buble and scraped the little spot down to bare metal and dabbed some touch up on it. Never did rust through or rust anymore. May not be the same thing in this case but a sugestion. Good luck!
why do you say all new front end parts? mines got 261,000 miles on it and its all stock.
My thoughts exactly, It wouldn't be unusual for a truck with over 200,000 mi to have all stock suspension components. They tend to last a very long time.
