Conflicted

hey guys

I got a dilemma,

2002 f150 reg cab long box 4.6 4x4 221,000 Kms (137,000 miles for my friends south of the border

Was wondering what yall think if its worth spending bour 4500 bucks on it, when im pretty sure it will need new front end, and u joints all around.

Im not worried bout puttin 1000 into it to make it road worthy.

But i am wondering if it would be worth it, with such high mileage..

they are mostly highway miles, the driver seat is tore up a bit, but a cover will suffice for now.

some dings here and there, paint is pretty much good, 1 tiny rust spot in the rocker.

any thoughts would be great thanks!

looks pretty good being an xl and 4.6 i would offer em about 3700 see where it goes, nothing against the xl and 4.6 My opinion its just worth a little less i would say your probly right about the ball joints and u joints and such i would also throw in that you might have to work on the brakes, possibly alternator, check all fluids just standard stuff. If you do get it to help with teh rust on my old 2000 i had the same problem start luckily i caught it in time cleaned all the rust up in the inside used rust converter on it. On the out side i poped the rust buble and scraped the little spot down to bare metal and dabbed some touch up on it. Never did rust through or rust anymore. May not be the same thing in this case but a sugestion. Good luck!

Sounds like a reasonable price to me. I just bought a 99 with 24100km on it.....just broke in. Looks like a decent truck too.

My thoughts exactly, It wouldn't be unusual for a truck with over 200,000 mi to have all stock suspension components. They tend to last a very long time.
