brake booster

Well on my '99 e150 i noticed the master cylinder is pretty rusty and leaking a little where it mounts to the booster. am going to get a new master but was wondering if it's worth it to change the booster. brakes are fine, but wondering if booster is reaching end of it's service life, 150,000 + miles or would it last a bit longer. Thanks

If the master had a leak that you couldn't see, its worth replacing the booster because its insides are probably full of fluid/eaten away. Elsewise, as long as you have good power brakes, there isnt really a reason to replace the booster. The factory boosters tend to be very high quality, with very high service lives. I have seen them reach 1 million miles + and survive for over 20 years in service. The aftermarket boosters tend to be much more cheaply made. This is one of those parts worth getting factory (or salvaging an OEM unit from a junkyard) if you have to replace it.
