I think you can get a better price on that. I have seen around $1400 or so for that warranty. Someone might be able to chime in with a link to the info. You can buy the warranty from any Ford dealer, btw. Oh, make sure it's the Ford warranty through Ford, all others are worthless.
Have you checked here? http://www.fordwarrantys.com/index.cfm
I see premium care 100K miles with $100 deductible at $1450 or so.

I think ford is lucky you are even considering an suv these days..I would have them throw it in the deal or you walk. By the time the extended warranty will kick in gas prices will probably be aroung 6 bucks a gallon and you will probably turn it in anyway. Or just wait till the waranty is about to expire and get a ford prem. waranty. They will do a 0 interest payment plan. I did that on my 2004...

I got the 60 month/100,000 mile warranty on my 07 EL for just under $1,600 from the dealer. You might also check out https://www.genuineservice.com/esp/welcome.do
I'm a strong believer in the extended warranty, especially on this vehicle.

Got it!
Well thanks for the comments.
We picked it up on Friday.
Ended up getting the Ford service aggreement for around $1100.
And the GAP for $189 instead of $600 they first said.
Our bank was offering us the same kind of insurance for $175 so they changed their mind on that $600s.
Ended up going with the dealer for the loan as they got us 4.9%
Truck ended up costing us $35K on the nose. After trade and rebates etc.
Think the deal was pretty good. Only gave us half a thank of gas though. thought that was a bit cheap.
