transmission help

I am trouble figuring out my tranny code the stamp on the door has the letter G for transmission and H2J for axle. The plate on the tranny is PJA AJ4 D14 D8TP JB 054643. The chilton manual codes a G as a auto C4 but that plate does not have a G on it. Also do you have to take the transfer case crossmember off to take off the tranny pan.My tranny is leaking pretty bad it has been sitting in my garage for about a week now while I'm waiting on a stainless steel fuel line from pump to carb from LMC.Anyway any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

H2J= (H2) 3.50 Ford 9" w/ limited slip (J) w/ power steering.
It helps to know what you're working on.
"G" means automatic transmission in general, not a specific model.
PJA-AJ4= 1978 C6 F150/250, full/part time 4WD, 351 V8.
Note that it's a C6 not a C4.
Can't help on the cross member removal, sorry.
