Leveling Kit

Sorry to repost this but to my extreme disappointment the Bilstien leveling kit is on back order. So is there another company that iffers the leveling kit with springs. I dont want to add spacers, and I need new shocks too so a nice complete kit would be great, I think Icon makes one but not sure and havent had time to do a good search.

Thanks,

Sarge

How do you like the Icon Shocks. I still tow alittle heavy with the truck so I need a good shock too.

I am pissed cause I ordered the bilstien kit in April and they just keep saying its not gonna ship, or its on back order, every month it gets pushed back.

Aggrivating.

Is there a site vendor that has the ICON or Rought Country Kits in stock, if not where did you all buy from.

i wish i could help you with how the shocks do towing but i don't have much to say... otherwise daily driving the shocks and handling is way better than stock. i only drove the truck 1 day with the leveling kit and 33's and then got 35's so that made a difference. the truck seems to drive more "stable" and how i am used to truck to handle. i have only had lifted trucks and this is my smallest but i like the feel of this kit.
i'm sure the other's are good, icon has a great rep with ford suspensions that's why i went with them.

Thanks Adam, I am pretty sure thats what I am going to go with. I guess if I dont like the shocks towing I could always replace them later on with the Bilstiens.

I am just pissed that they keep pushing the date back for the kit. I have the dual stabilizer set up waiting for the install I was hoping to do it all at once.

Where did you get the Icon leveling kit from?

Well after doing some reading and searching I am wondering what people are thinking when they sell products. I was on one site and they said that if you do the leveling kit, and you dont install a trac bar drop bracket, or drive shaft spacer there will be abnormal wear charectoristics and poor handling.

Another site says that if the cam brackets are not upgraded there will be too much camber/caster and cause abnormal wear.

The last statement I read was that installing a leveling kit will cause axel seal and dust seals to wear prematurely. I guess I am in a different universe cause I thought once you installed the coils the whole axel would change not just certain parts of it.

Maybe these are all just genaric statements I dont know, but some of them seem odd.

So to those that have these kits, with new coils, did you add/upgrade anyother components (Adam I guess this would be on you cause I am looking at the icon kit) Also have you had any abnormal tire ware due to the leveling kit, and did your front end shop have any issues with alignment?

SKY JACKER ???

Anyone use the Sky Jacker kit. Its reasonably priced, and comes with new front springs and a rear add a leaf. I dontknow much about the quality of the sky jacker suspension stuff, I have always tried to use Bilstien where I could.

I would like the Icon, but I cant justify the 825.00 for springs, shocks, and 2 cam slugs.

I think those statements are just to "protect" the company but they seem pretty far out and broad IMO.

I have not had any issues with the front end or alignment. And tire ware seems normal to (rotate every 5k miles). A leveling kit is a basic as suspension "lifts" really get so the off road shop i use has no problems.

Only upgrades I did was slotted rotors and ceramic brakes/ amp steps. Good luck with whichever kit you decide to go with. A leveled superduty looks pretty good to me.

I figured as much. I found a Bilstien Kit for the front, but the rear shocks are on B/O every where.

I may go with Icon Shocks for the rear or I may keep the factory ranchos on it and just wait for the rears to come in.

Not sure what to do?

Well I ordered up the bilstien kit. I will wait til the end of July for the rear shocks to come off of back order. If there is any difference in front ot back height, I will make it up with the air bags.

I will post pics when I get the parts installed.
