I just finished up GT40 mod (heads & intake). I also put on long tubes and the TB is different, its of a stock 5.0 mustang, I think. The engine runs great! Anyway I'm getting a 172. I checked all the usual stuff; Vacuum, exhaust leaks, egr is working properly.
I have the o2 sensor mounted in the right side header collector. I've read on here that the engine will run just fine only reading one side. Well it runs great, but could this be the cause for the code? Is this true for MAF as well as SD? Mine is MAF.
I finally gave up on the 172 and decided try and fix my cruise control, cause it wasn't working either. I thought it was because, with the Gt40 Mod I relocated the TB and the cruise cable now has a sharp bend in it, were before there was no bend. But this was not the cause. I found a blown fuse under the hood in the d-box. Guess what it controls? The Cruise Control! And the O2 sensor heat! Who woulda thought!
No Cruise + 172 Engine running Lean (atleast the comp thought so) = blown fuse
It shouldnt happen again. I think I blew it when I extended the wires on the O2 harness. There's two white wires, I didn't mark them before the cut, I had a 50/50 shot and must of got it wrong. The O2 has since been replaced with a new O2 w/longer harness.
