Fuel issues.....

Alright guys, my 1994 F150 keeps throwing a 172 oxygen sensor code (Indicates Lean). smelling the exhaust of this thing will choke you out. It has a brand new O2 Sensor in it (Bosch 15717). and it didn't physically change anything like Idle or exhaust smell or MIL codes 172. tried to unplug it and still no difference Same 172 code. Truck has a New Cat. Will NOTE O2 Sensor sits in the bridge that crosses the 2 Pipes. This truck has a Factory MAF, Can Confirm MAF and not MAP. no visual vacuum leaks But, there appears to be a Metric ****-ton of carbon in the intake past the butterflies. OHM readings off the ECTS are unknown. Any help would be greatly appreciated as its been doing this since I owned it (little over a year)

Exhaust leaks upstream of the O2 sensor will make the computer dump in more fuel since the unmetered air is causing the O2 to interpret this as a lean condition.
