roll bars and brush guards

anyone have one on their trucks? ive been throwing around the idea of both. ive been lookingon craigslist so far and i havent found anything for a f150 yet. how do these things mount up? would i need one for just my truck or could i modify another one without too much trouble? also i have a stepside bed so what about the roll bar? look for one out of a ranger or s10 maybe?
thanks guys.

What year is your truck? There are more choices for 92-96 than there are for 87-91.

I have had brush gaurds before. I had a Ranch Hand for a while and it was kinda cool, but it just added too much extra weight on the front end. My opinion is that those type grille gaurds are better suited for F250 or bigger trucks.

If I ever have another one it will be a chrome push bar type like this one. I would also get a pair of rectangle fog/driving lights for it.

Whatever you do do not get a bull bar. It hangs low and serves almost no purpose. Besides it looks goofy on older trucks like ours anway.

I have to vote against roll bars. Most trucks I have seen look best without them. It also requires more holes to be drilled in the bed.

I"m looking for a brush guard for my 87 F250. I'm not looking for something just for looks, I want something to protect the front end. I"m in Georgia and haven't seen anything close to what I'm looking for.

everyone around here thinks their stuff is made of gold, so finding a rollbar was damn near impossible, I had a set of rims sitting around original off an 86 bronc, a buddy wanted them, so I convinced him to give me his headache rack for em, looks damn good if you ask me.

BUT, my friend is selling his roll bar and grille guard off his chevy (both off a ford) I know it might be a bit for shipping, but I had to add purpose to this thread right?

"Roll bars" are pretty much out of style around here and about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Headache racks are much more useful and plentiful. I have one on my truck and I have one on every truck I buy because I like to haul stuff up there that I bring home from Home Depot (lumber, PVC, etc.).

Brush Guard

you all think that would fit a 95 f150?

how do you mount these things? straight to the frame or what?

It was on a parts truck I bought several years ago. It was just bolted to the bumper so I had to fabricate brackets to brace it to the frame, but it wasn't that hard. Unfortunately I don't know who made it as it had already been repainted before I got it.

Hey Jas, That rear bumper looks familiar.

I agree that headache racks are much more usefull.

What is that blue car, is it a 280? Actually I'm going to say 76 160.

It's a 1972 Fairlady Z, right-hand drive, from Japan.

Yep, it's holding up well and still looks good.
