Brake light wireing question

PO changed out fronts to disk but failed to switch the pedal. I've been reading some old and not so old posts about how to set up a switch at the pedal. my question is do I just pull the original plug near the MC into the cab snip off the plug and wire it to the new push button switch? wireing is not my strong suit so sorry if it's a stupid question. Is it really easier to do this as opposed to splicing in an original pressure activated switch at the master cylinder? Thanks for any help.

You can pull the wires inside the cab and attach them to a switch or you could plumb in the old pressure switch. Probably easier just to hook the wires to a switch at the pedal.

When working with the brake light wiring remember to disconnect the battery first, otherwise one of the wires will be hot.

Good point and thanks for the heads up. I would not have thought about that. Thank you both for your help.
