Plug removal tool worth every $ !!
I had convinced myself that none of MY plugs were going to break if I just followed the TSB so I did not order the Lisle tool online.
I purchased Champion plugs, already had Kroil, and jumped into the job with minimum tools and maximum optimism.
The passenger side is the toughest to get to, so I started there. All 4 came out creaking and groaning, but intact. Moved over and #5 broke! next two were OK then #8 broke also.

I spent the next few hours searching for a parts store that carried the Lisle tool, to no avail. Napa said they could get me one "in a few days".
Called two dealers and asked the guys there where they got their tool. Finally one of them gave me the name of a Matco tool guy. Contacted him; He had one on his truck - though not the Lisle brand (think it's a KD) anyway, $100 later I was back to work.
Looking at pictures I'm convinced it is the same tool, and it WORKS!
Moral of this long post - GET THE TOOL - have it there and expect to use it.
The job is a little tougher than an old plug change but it is not that bad.
Bring on the next 80K miles
