Chassis cab questions
Since the Chassis Cab models are rated as less power then the normal trucks - is it noticeable? The 6.0 was rated at 325 hp and 570 ft-lbs, the 6.7L chassis cab is 300hp and 660 ft-lbs. Is it actually less power the the normal truck or is it just rated different as they are using a different formulation and in reality is pretty close to the normal trucks which make 390hp and 735 ft-lbs? Or is the single turbo wheel the main difference?
Aside from the weight differences compared to a 250 or 350 - does this thing actually get up and move? Does it seem to have more power then the old 6.0L? Any spool up time that makes the truck really lag (like the 6.0 did)? Our 6.0 really sucks off the line, once moving it is fine but can be downright dangerous trying to get into traffic at times.
And what type of fuel economy are you getting from it? We usually get 12 unloaded and 9-10 loaded (sometimes less). We are hoping that the 6.7 will do about 15 unloaded in F550 trim with 4.88 gears... But it may be wishful thinking.
Thanks
Ford has been de-tuning CC for over 25 years this is nothing new. They need to keep them alive for the fleet market.
When I ordered I was going to order the pickup with the bed delete option, however with the bed delete the truck is detuned.
Don't worry about performance no issues at all, I too had a 6.0L and was sluggish and it had 35" tires and 4.56 gears.
Good Luck!
Mike
