ignition fuse keeps blowing
i just recently installed a centech wiring harness. pertronix billet dist. and coil. everything was working fine. no fuses were blowing. I welded in my floor pans and noticed i could crank it once and it would do fine. then try again later and the fuse would blow in my ignition sw.
any thoughts. i checked where i welded and none of the wires were even close to gettin touched.

A lot of things it could be. I'd check the dizzy first and make sure the positive wire is not getting grounded when vacuum advance operates. I assume you mean the fuse in the fuse block, ignition switch doesn't have one. To trace down the problem you'll need a ohmeter and know how to use it. When the fuse is blown, look for a ground on the output side of fuse. If you see it, check at S term of starter solenoid, positive coil wire etc, taking loose the wires till you find it. Get the proper readings for your pickup module in dizzy and check that, correct reading on primary coil resistance. You should be getting the idea by now. I have had a lug short on the back of the Centech fuse block. With the way you describe it, first guess would be in the distributor. A solid ground would blow the fuse instantly.
