clutch prob please help

I have 96 PSD 4x4 5 speed. The problem is I have to slam my clutch pedal to the floor to get it to start. I was going just cut the two wires and tie them together but there are 4 wires. I'm guessing 2 for the safety start and 2 for the cruise control. Which 2 are the safety switch so I can tie them together to fix it. I know it crank in gear but that is fine to me. Thanks

x3 Would be a good time to do a heim joint mod if you have to repair anyway. No need to constantly jump the wires and create a potentially hazardous situation if it can be fixed for good and still keep the safety factor. But if you're gonna, yes the red/lt blue and white/pink wires are the ones to jump. Even easier you can go to Ford and get the little plug that goes where you clutch pedal position sensor normally would be and it will jump them for you. Just say that your truck is an automatic. I think they look it up under neutral safety switch. Then if you ever just wanted to fix it you can pull that out and plug right back up.

The heim is the fix, but that shouldn't effect the part your talking about.

You have to look for them on Ebay.

Permanent clutch rod fix.
Something like that.

You probably have the same problem that CCarrier just had with the bad bushing or cracked housing/whateveryoucall it that the clutch pivots on.

Sorry, my answer was kind of everywhere. Like William and the others said, the plastic bushings around your clutch pedal shaft in your pedal box are probably bad so when you press the clutch down it's moving the rod down some instead of just rotating it. I dunno how CCarrier fixed his.

Get the hiem joint off of Ebay. I replaced it with a stock bushing and the dang thing broke shortly after I replaced it. The only thing I could think of is that the stock bushing definitely can't handle stronger pressure plates? It should have lasted longer than a week or two.

I replaced the heim joint, bushing, and now my clutch is great. I just disconnected the whole clutch pedal position sensor on mine...I'm not sure if that disconnects the cruise control or not but I don't use it anyway.
