I have a '99 Expedition with several problems. At the beginning of the year a friend worked on my car so that it would pass inspection. He cleaned the fuel injectors and replaced some of them (think that's what he did) Anyways it was driving fine after that then one day the transmission was having problems it was shifting real rough and the o/d light was flashing. And then it started cutting off on me when I was driving. It would give no warning at all all. Everything would just shut down and the battery light will come on but the check engine light never would. Then the check engine light did come on and said the EGR sensor. So we cleared it and drove it for awhile and it came back on saying the same thing. Took it to ford to see if they could fig out why it was cutting off when I drove it. They said there were codes on the tranny but they couldn't tell me what was wrong with it unless they took the whole thing apart and that I probably needed a new tranny. Well I went picked it up brought it home my friend's dad replaced spark plugs and said my oil was low and tranny fluid was high but the tranny fluid looked really good like it had just been changed. (I was gonna get it and the filter changed then he said that so didn't) Well i've been having to put a quart of oil in ever few wks or so cause it's low. Went to get a oil change today and it's been driving really bad all day not shifting good at all or when i'm just sitting at a light sounds like the engine revs up by it's self with my foot on the brake. Also is shifting really bad today. So the CEL came on today and took it to carquest they said it's was P1299 something with my coolent system. Mind you temp gage has never gone up. So I got the EGR part anyways since that's what it's been in the past after i left carquest it stalled out on me 2x when i was on the highway going like 60/65. Took it to a mechanic they out the EGR part on and it stalled on them when he was backing out of the garage he said may the Idol Air Control something. that was his guess what's wrong with it. Anyone else have any ideas or suggestions that don't involve going back to the dealer since they couldn't tell me the first time why it was cutting off on me?
