Hey everyone, I just had some upstanding citizen (?) break into my truck by punching in the door lock, anyone know how to fix this, or is it just a case of take it in and pay to have it replaced. I have a STX with manual locks, so getting in on the passenger side and climbing across is getting VERY old really quick! Thanks for any help in advance.

Brain, I honestly can say that I have not removed the lock on this style of truck. However I have on many other vehicles. The best thing you can do is remove your drivers door panel, and look in there with a flashlight. You will probably have to remove the exterior door handle. From there you can release the lock cylinder, and put everything back together if you need to drive your truck for a day or two. Most locksmiths will be able to order a cylinder for you, and key it to fit your key. If you dont know any good locksmiths, take it to a dealer, however you will pay more. I recommend taking your old cyl to the locksmith so you are sure you have the correct one.

Door locks seem to be a tricky thing in the sense that they will always order and key the wrong one, and you dont figure this out until you have your truck ripped apart in your driveway.

Should be easy to do though.
