what years fit

what year front dana 60 will swap right into a 84 f250? im going to look at a few junk yards on my next day off and get some prices. i know the kingpins are better but how much stronger are they?

Pretty much any Dana 60 front out of an 85-97 F350 will basically bolt right in there. I understand there may be some drilling to be done on the main crossmember in order to mount the track bar bracket. I am told the most desirable Dana 60s are the 85-91 I believe, these axles had thicker axle tubes and heaver duty C-knuckles... these would be the kingpin version. I too am planning on doing the D60 swap on my 84 F250, my D60 came out of an 86 F350 dually. Not that there was anything really wrong with the D50 TTB, I'm just getting tired of the alignment issues and uneven tire wear... not to mention I use it has a snow plow in the winter months.

x2. except you won't even need to screw around with a trac bar if you do a shackle reversal. this topic has been covered about a bajillion times in other threads. I wish I knew how to post links to them.....

Yeah I was looking at the shackle reversal kits... ouch they're expensive! I am not too crazy about it giving you an additional 2.5" of lift. It would be great if it was a wheeling rig but I plow snow and tow trailers with it, I really don't want or need it any higher than it already is.

Just build the kit if your capable with any fabrication. I did that and it turned out fine lol.

I concidered that, I do have the knowledge and equipment to build one, like I said before I don't think it would work well for my application because of the increased ride height. Although I can definately see the advantages of running one.
