Friend of mine has a 2003 E350 van, with a 7.3 in it. He told me this
It will run fine when its cooler, like in the evening, but when its hot or if going to go up a grade it will have a really heavy miss and will make black smoke. He said he took it to Ford and the said it was the Fuel Rail Pump (HPOP) and that it was a 5 hour job, and yeah. So my thing is, would it be the HPOP cause the dealership he took to, the guys are *******;s my mom when I was younger had to tell a guy how to do something. So all the help I can get would be appreciated. Plus he will pay me to do work and I need the money for my project. Much appreciated.
Check the MAP hose, try unplugging it to see if it runs better that way.
Umm, what's that sensor... with the tin nut? IPR?
I think if the o-ring is bad it'll let oil pass by when it gets warm? Don't take my word on that one though.
Well he wants to change the MAP sensor so thats whats going to happen I am going to order one and replace it, he's giving me business, and he knows this may not fix it but its a good chance that the IPR could be doing it, but I hope its the MAP.
Well thing is colder air is denser (Correct me if I am wrong) and a turbo makes pressure, and pressurized air is hot, so I am wondering if its to hot and then adding hte tempature from being pressurized, if that would make the map be like WOOOOO buddy. And he told me if he drives it in the evenings it acts fine, cause its cooler, but durring the day, nope not a chance.
